The two people behind this blog are Judy Giannettino (JG) and Joanne Marino Bartram (JMB), friends who want to share their passion for Italy with you.

Judy is a lifelong writer, wanderer and wonderer who lives in sunny and dry New Mexico and transports herself as often as possible - physically or mentally - to sunny Italy, the Mediterranean and Dolce far Niente (the sweetness of doing nothing). She has visited several other countries as well, from Mexico to China; every western (northwest, southwest or just plain west) state in the continental United States and much of the East Coast, but only a few of the states in the middle (she swears she'll get to them all at some point).

Joanne's earliest travel memories are road trips with four siblings in the back of her parent's Rambler stationwagon and one magical train trip from New York to Virginia with her grandfather. So began a lifelong passion for travel. Her travels began in earnest 20 years ago with a life changing two-week trip to Italy. She regularly visits Italy to study the language, culture, and cooking, and has traveled within the United States, as well as to Canada, England, and throughout Europe. As a recent retiree, you will find her on a travel adventure, planning one, or writing about her travels.

It is in Italy that Judy and Joanne feel they can truly follow the advice of Marcus Aurelius to "Dwell on the beauty of life."
